MUSEO FRIDA KAHLO
"The Restored Table: Memory and Reunion” In collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier
La Casa Azul presents this 2020 the offering “The Restored Table: Memory and Reunion”, in collaboration with the artist from the fashion world, Jean Paul Gaultier. This is a dialogue between the loving gaze of the designer to Mexico and Frida Kahlo, as well as a tribute to the emblematic work “The Wounded Table” (1940) and to the traditional art of Guanajuato.
This Altar of the Dead pays homage to twelve beloved creators who died in different pandemics: Tiziano, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Edvard Münch, Georgia O’Keeffe, Keith Haring, Guillaume Apollinaire, Rudolf Nureyev, Chopin, Moliere, Sor Juana, and especially, to the Mexican Manuel Felguerez. Thus, it provokes a ritual reunion, celebrating life over death.
